No we aren't moving moving, just the blog is moving. I have decided to move on over to wordpress. I have been working on my new blog for about a week or 2 now and I think I'm ready to show it off. Its still a work in progress because I haven't updated my blogroll or posts from here yet but it looks nice and you'll be able to see its not only about baby anymore! Its going to be more about my life in all aspects and the things I'm interested in like cooking and decorating. Of course my baby posts will still be around but I will feel more free to write about what I want to write about and not feel so confined to baby, baby, baby.
Now onto the survey! Its a day late because blogger wouldn't let me post all day yesterday! Now this might be my last written survey. I'm thinking about continuing this survey via vlog entries on Fridays, what do you think?
-How far along? 21 weeks! -How big is baby? A banana! According to my book baby weighs about a pound! -Weight gain? Oh I don't even wanna know! -Maternity clothes? Yup. -Stretchies? Same -Sleep? The more the better. -Best moment this week? Yesterday our crib and glider got here and we put it up last night! Everything looks great and is a dead match! -Movement? Yup, I still don't get big kicks very often but I can feel him moving around. Its especially weird when he rolls haha -Food cravings? Smoothies and fresh corn! I love summer! -Gender? Its a BOY! -Labor signs? Nooooo, thank you! -Belly button in or out? I can pop my belly button out if I push on it haha! It is so weird... -What I miss? Still the theme park thing. A big group of friends went to a big waterpark last weekend. I wasn't even invited. Pregnant bellah not good for theme park... -What I am looking forward to? V-day! V-day! V-day! -Weekly wisdom? A smoothie a day keeps the constipation at bay haha -Milestones? Getting started on the nursery!!!
So last weekend was a huge weekend for us. We ordered all of our crib furniture! Okay...most of it. My parents are purchasing the dresser as their gift and so the glider and crib are on their way. And because of my thrifty skills I also snagged a free mattress with crib purchase and got to take the one we previously got back and used the money towards our glider. Wanna know what we got? Sure ya do!!!
This is our crib. It is the DaVinci Kalani Crib.
This is our Stork Craft Glider. We have it in the espresso but we decided to go with a brown cushion instead of the beige. You never know what you're going to get when something says beige so I figure we might as well go with something more likely to match the room.
Our dresser will be from the Canopy line at Walmart. I wanted a full size dresser because the changer/dresser option is extremely pricey for how small the actual piece of furniture is and I can't imagine a 16-year-old still using that kind of dresser. I want this furniture to hopefully be around for many years to come, only needing to change out the mattress in the crib since it is a 4-in-1. Anyways, if you haven't looked in to Canopy furniture from Walmart please do so! It is great furniture, beautiful, easy to put together and well a great value! Seriously, we spent a ridiculous amount of money on our entertainment center (RIDICULOUS) and in the next room is our Canopy formal dining room set and you can't tell the difference! A little aggravating honestly.
The pictures look like the furniture won't match but I'm sure it will. The espresso dresser is not that dark!
Its a morning picture...what you expected a cute one?
-How far along? 20 weeks! -How big is baby? A cantaloupe! -Weight gain? I'm up more than 6 pounds by now. If I keep to the 1 pound a week I should be at 8 and by my next appoint up 10 total. Thats my goal at least but with the way I have been eating I'm gonna have to work out a little more to maintain that. -Maternity clothes? Yup. -Stretchies? Same -Sleep? Its not so bad. Only up a couple times to pee and I might be getting used to tossing and turning to relieve the hip pain. -Best moment this week? Last night hubman got to feel him kick! -Movement? I can feel it pretty good in the morning, around 4 p.m. and at night before bed. I don't have strong kicks frequently but I get them every now and then like last night! He kicked a few times that were hard enough for the hubby to feel!! -Food cravings? Smoothie please! -Gender? Its a BOY! -Labor signs? Nooooo, thank you! -Belly button in or out? I can pop my belly button out if I push on it haha! It is so weird... -What I miss? This is always a tough one. I feel like I shouldn't miss anything because its amazing just to be pregnant. I guess now that it is summer and I have friends going to theme parks and stuff I do miss that. -What I am looking forward to? V-day! V-day! V-day! -Weekly wisdom? Remind yourself if you really need that third slice of pizza. You aren't really eating for 2. -Milestones? Half-baked my sweet baby boy!!!
So if we had a little girl on the way the names would have been down to 2 choices. Easy right? Very. Boy names are quite a bit harder. It used to be between 2 names as well but while scrolling through the endless lists of names on baby name sites I added a few...okay maybe like 15. And we can't narrow them down! I will do my best today not to throw every single one at you. I'm also going to (when I feel like it) write something by the name that maybe sways or desways us from the name for whatever reason. Now I will need your opinions. HONEST opinions. Before we get started there is something you should also know. We are traditional people but I want to stay away from names on the top lists. My sister and I both grew up with fairly normal names but original. We never had someone in the same class, or at least I had 1 in high school. I'm not sure my sister has had any. My husband however has a very common name and hated that every time someone yelled out Andrew 10 boys would turn around! So without any more of my rambling lets get onto the names shall we?!
Owen Carter-I very much like this name and Carter as a middle name just really seemed to go well together. That being said my husband kind of has a tradition that got started in his family where the father's first name is the baby's middle name. He loves this idea and I'm fine by it but Owen Andrew? Not a fan.
Cooper Andrew-We have liked Cooper for a couple of years now. My parents like it and I think its a "cool" name.
Logan Andrew-I'm a fan of Logan. The husband likes it too. The only thing that irks me? The meaning. It means from the hollow. If any of you can throw a positive spin on this one let me know. I tried with...well we were TTC so my ute was hollow, now its not, thus he is coming from that once hollow place...HAHA I tried!!!
Egan Andrew-This is one of our top names. Tippy top. Egan is an Irish name (Andrew is very Irish probably at least 80% if not more haha. I have Irish in my blood somewhere.) Egan means little fire, which we just love! See both of us are short people. I am barely over 5 foot on a good day and Andrew might reach 5'5. So sorry little man but you are probably going to be short unless my mother's side comes through for ya. The one problem we have with this name is who has ever heard of Egan? I have heard it as a last name, which is what everyone has said when we tell them this name. I mean I don't think its too far out there. Its close to Ethan and thats a very traditional name. I just don't want it to be too far out there. Like I said we are traditional people but we do want something not as common. So whats your take on this name? Like it? Not your style? Even if you hate it and it isn't your style do you think its a bogus name like Sundance, Speck or Hud? Sorry Mellencamp.
And there you have it! Not bad right? I only gave you 4 names. I guess we do have a short list! Now put on your thinking caps, you too lurkey loos I need some opinions!
-How far along? 19 weeks! -How big is baby? A mango! We also learned last week that baby is weighing 10 ounces! -Weight gain? I'm up 6 pounds. -Maternity clothes? Yup. -Stretchies? Same -Sleep? Its definitely getting harder to sleep as the belly grows. I'm also up about 3 times if not 5 to pee. I stop counting after awhile. Oh and have I mentioned the excruciating hip pain? No? Yeah, that too. -Best moment this week? Another week down with a healthy little man! -Movement? Not much honestly. I can't wait for big kicks. The doctor said that I will start feeling more movement now. -Food cravings? Hot pepper dip. Its an old family recipe, its super spicy and super delicious. -Gender? Its a BOY! -Labor signs? Nooooo, thank you! -Belly button in or out? Its getting shallow but still in for sure. -What I miss? Probably a good nights sleep. -What I am looking forward to? I'm looking forward to the half way point but I'm counting down until V-day! -Weekly wisdom? Lets see here...write all of your questions/concerns down as they happen. Take it to the doctor with you that way you don't forget. For some reason I always end up at the doctor's office saying everything is peachy and I have no questions when 2 days before it seemed like I had a million! -Milestones? Its a boy!
Blue! We couldn't be more excited to be having a healthy little boy on the way and after a day of shopping I am beat!!! I'll be hopefully showing you soon the bedding we picked up, crib we picked out, room plans, baby names and more! Looks like every one who voted was right and so was our entire family haha!! I don't think one person thought this baby was going to be a girl!
I just got home from the ER and after 2 ultrasounds (vaginal and abdominal), monitoring to make sure I wasn't having contractions and an internal exam (OMGOSH). My cervix is long and closed and everything is well with Baby!! I don't even have a UTI!
Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers!!!
Hopefully only good news on this blog from here on out! Up next? Anatomy scan with only 3 days and counting! SO READY FOR SOME BABY SHOPPING!
